At this weekend’s World Endurance Championship round at Interlagos, Ferrari’s 499P Le Mans Hypercar will run at the Hypercar minimum power for the first time, set at 480kW (644bhp) under the Balance of Performance for the Brazilian event on Sunday. Compared to previous races, the Ferrari has lost power, with 35kW (47bhp) less since the Le Mans 24 Hours round last month, and 9kW (12bhp) less compared to the Spa 6 Hours in May. It has also gained weight, now 27kg heavier than at Le Mans and 12kg heavier than at Spa. The Batance of Performance for the Sao Paulo 6 Hours is calculated based on race averages from the previous three rounds, excluding Le Mans, resulting in the Ferrari running heavier and with less power compared to last year’s Interlagos race. Toyota’s GR010 HYBRID LMH and other competitors have also seen changes in weight and power since last year, with alterations made to their specifications for the upcoming race. The Sao Paulo 6 Hours, the fifth round of the 2025 WEC, will kick off with track action starting at 11 a.m. local time on Friday, July 11.
